Lonely Planet review

A recent refit has modestly galvanised an ageing formula, although old touches persist and the hotel finds itself rather like Běijīng: suspended between two eras. Rooms are pleasant enough, especially the ones in the four-storey building ‘A’ that have patios and face the strip of garden and water, but rooms opposite Charlie’s Bar can be noisy at night. Essentially, it’s the location and good discounts that win over guests.
