Parque Quinta Vergara
Nowhere is Viña’s nickname of ‘the garden city’ better justified than at the magnificently landscaped Parque Quinta Vergara; the entrance is on Errázuriz at the south end of Libertad. It once belonged to one of the city’s most illustrious families, the Alvares-Vergaras, but when they fell on hard times they sold it to the city council. Their residence was the Venetian neo-Gothic–style Palacio Vergara, which houses the Museo Municipal de Bellas Artes.

Castillo Wulff
Squat-looking Castillo Wulff hangs half over the sea: skip through the art exhibitions to the tower at the back, where you can peer through the thick glass floor at the rocks and waves below.
