Lonely Planet review for Vinilo
From bakers to butchers to effortlessly hip resto-bar: the mismatched tile floor tells the story of the many incarnations of this Cerro Alegre institution. Sandwiches and chocolate-and-raspberry cake seduce during the day. Later, quirky Chilean fare takes center stage. As the last plates are licked, the namesake vinyl gets turned up and things slips into bar mode.

Interesting ideas but not always successful
indigoandviolet does not recommend this,
The Café seems to aim to take Chilean ingredients and flavours and use them in a more modern style of cooking. In our visit, we found this had mixed results. A very good atmosphere, but the prices (9 or 10 mil for a main) high for what you get. The owner was very enthusiastic, but otherwise service was slow and a little forgetful.
We were later told that prices are raised at the weekend and a better time to visit would be for a mid-week lunch from the set menu.

Vinilo - The laidback alternative in upscale neighborhood
calleforsell recommends this,
This local restobar is an excellent alternative for relaxed conversation, a pre-party hangout, or a tranquil Sunday nightcap. The food is good, the drinks fine, and the ambience straight down welcoming and pintoresque, yet service-minded.
The street facing two-sided bar is cool for meeting new people, and the prices are mid-level.In short, this is a place for enjoying the lazy moments in the porteño nights and afternoons, a must if in town.
