Things to do in Osorno

  1. La Parilla de Pepe

Pepe runs a one-man show on the grill at this locals’ haunt for cheap steaks. The aged exterior is intriguing, the interior far more respectful. They are a bit skimpy on the fries, but the steaks are cooked to perfection. Reservations are recommended, especially at weekends.

  2. BouleBar

One of Osorno’s few hip spots, though not quite as cool as its sister bar in Puerto Montt. Still, pickings are slim, so drinks here are obligatory, if for no other reason then to toast to its former history as the town’s oldest surviving Germanic structure. Probst!
