Lonely Planet review for Restaurant Majestic

The chef at Santiago’s only Indian restaurant is Bangladeshi and the menu revolves around rich northern dishes like Rogan Josh, tandoori meats and breads. There’s a good selection of vegetarian curries, but let them know if you like yours hot. Predictably decorated with ele­phant statues and batik tablecloths, it’s inside the Majestic Hotel.

    Majestic Indian Restaurant

    The restaurant is inside a Best Western hotel but dont let this put you off, it is by no means a hotel or chain type restaurant.
    The food is excellent and quite authentic. If you want it spicy you need to ask otherwise it will be geared to the Chilean palate which prefers rather bland food.
    Lots of items suited for vegetarians and vegans also.
    Prices are on the high side but the value is good.
    Reservations are recommended, be sure to ask for the main room, the overflow room is not nearly as nice.
    You can park for free in the secure hotel lot.
    After 12 years in Santiago this restaurant is in my top five.
