Land

Bus

Concepción has two long-distance bus terminals. Almost all carriers leave from Terminal de Buses Collao (316-666; Tegualda 860), on the outskirts of town near the highway to Chillán, but some companies use the separate Terminal Camilo Henríquez(315-036; Camilo Henríquez 2565), on the northward extension of Bulnes. Unless otherwise indicated, the following companies use Terminal de Buses Collao. Micros, colectivos and taxis (US$4) connect downtown with both the Chillancito and Collao bus terminals.

Tur Bus (Downtown315-555; Tucapel 530 Terminal de Buses Collao314-876), Pullman(314-912), Sol del Sur (313-841) and many other companies run frequent buses daily to Santiago and Valparaíso. Some provide connections further north and across to Argentina.

Companies traveling southbound to Temuco, Valdivia and Puerto Montt include Tur Bus and Cruz del Sur (314-372).

Frequent services to Los Angeles, Angol and Saltos del Laja are provided by Jota Be (312-652).

For services down the coast to Coronel, Lota, Arauco, Lebú, Cañete and Contulmo, try BusesJeldres(791-972) or Buses J Ewert (212-030). Buses Los Alces (240-855) runs micros from the corner of Tucapel and Av Los Carrera that go to Lota.

Train

For trains running north, EFE has a bus transfer service leaving from Plaza España in Barrio Estación. Buy your tickets at the EFE Venta de Pasajes (Ticket Office; 226-925; Barros Arana 164). If you are heading north toward Santiago (US$18, six hours) or south toward Temuco (US$18), you can go by bus transfer to Chillán first, where you change to get the train. Transfer times can be lengthy so the bus is probably the best option here.

Air

Aeropuerto Carriel Sur lies just outside Concepción. Lan (600-526-2000; Barros Arana 600) flies from there to Santiago (US$160), and also has a downtown office.
