Getting around
Aeropuerto Carriel Sur is 5km northwest of downtown, on the road to Talcahuano. Aerovan (248-776) runs airport minibuses for about US$5 that will take you directly to your hotel.
The Bio-Trén station (227-777; Arturo Prat), behind the monolithic Lider supermarket at the end of Freire, has departures every half-hour to Talcahuano, Hualqui and other places within the greater metropolitan area (US$0.60).
Micros from the bus station run constantly to the center of town along San Martín (US$0.40). There are also micros to Talcahuano (US$0.50) that run continuously down O'Higgins and San Martín.
Concepción has several car-rental agencies to choose from. One of the best value is Rosselot (732-030; Chacabuco 726) from US$30 a day.
