Lonely Planet review
The impressive Refugio Cochamó , at La Junta valley, is a fantastic gringo-Argentine climber-run cabin with wood-fired showers, water straight from the Trinadad waterfall, homemade pizza (CH$6000) and its very own homebrew, Tábano Pale Ale! It’s open from November to April. To reach it, you must cross the river via a rudimentary but effective pulley system. In January, the tábanos are relentless.
Our independent authors have visited Refugio Cochamó and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in La Junta.
