I'm taking a bus from Lima, Peru to Santiago, Chile. The company is Cruz del Sur. Can someone please tell me which bus terminal I will arrive in? I desperately need to book a hotel next to the bus station but there's no information online about where the bus stops.
I was wondering whether any one could recommend a decent tour in Easter Island? I've foolishly only given myself 2 days there so I thought I'd better book something before I arrive!
I saw Haumaka tours recommended in one guide. Has any one used them? I can't find any contact details for them.
My girlfriend and me are planning to do the W TDP in 4 days in early november.
Would appreciate any comments or suggestions.
My plan is next:
From Puerto Natales take 7.00 bus to Pudeto, with catamaran to Paine Grande and walk to Domos&Camp.FRANCIS and sleep there.
Early in the morning Domos&Camp.FRANCES to Valles Frances Frances and down to Paine Grande and stay there for the night.
Start early and walk to Glaciar Grey viewpoint, go back to Paine Grande an take the 18.30…
I ordered a tent on Amazon and my sister mailed me a gift box around the same time. I received an email from DHL and customs saying they need my passport number. I gave it to them and I was told I would get a phone call on when and were to get my package. I got a call one day later requesting a photo copy of my passport so they could ship directly to my residence. Does all this sound normal for Chile??
I'm finishing anot amazing 3 weeks holidays in Chile, have visited Chiloé, Puerto Varas, Valparaíso and Santiago, almost everything went well except for several issues we had while trying to pay with Credit Card.
In my first attempt when just arriving in the SCL airport I got a funny error message, something like WALK:POSXML ERROR/Invalid parameter size first thought was it could be my own Bank blocking the use of my Credit Card in Chile due to security or an issue with the size of my pin…
I am considering visiting Puerto Natales and going on day tours in early May. I would be traveling on my own and could stay either 3 or 4 nights and fly from Santiago.
Am I totally crazy to visit in May? I've read conflicting reports about how bad the weather is this time of year. Will I likely be able to get one day tours or will they likely be cancelled due to low visitor numbers and/or weather?
My other option is to go to San Pedro up north where the weather will be better. I'm just so…
Hi all -
I am new to these boards and first time traveling solo, so looking forward to hearing a lot of input from the experienced.
I plan to visit Chile for a total of 10 days in the end of January 2017. I was planning to split my time between Santiago and check out the Torres del Paine National Forest. I am a very big avid fan of the outdoors, hence my interest in backcoutnry exploration as well as the city life and so my interest in staying a number of nights in Santiago.
Here are some of…

Hi! I am looking for a buddy or a group to walk the W Circuit of Torres del Paine. I want to start at around 11 December. The guided tours are fairly expensive and as from what I have heard there is no need to walk the trip with a guide. The only thing is that I think it is irresponsible to go on my own. You never know what might happen (break a leg or anything). And of course it is more fun to do the hike and share the experience with others.
I am a Dutch 37-year old woman. Easy going…
I'm going to do the W circuit in April and I want to stay there in refugios. Does anybody know when I have to book the refugios? Is 2 weeks in advance sufficient?
