I couldn't find any posts about this so I thought I'd start a new one. I'm flying from Sydney to Santiago and will have approx. 1.5 hours before taking a flight to Sao Paulo, Brazil. I'll be able to check my backpack all the way through to Sao Paulo. I'm just wondering if anyone could provide some info on international transfers. Is it really easy to get to the international departures once you arrive? I obviously wont have time to leave the airport and go through immigration so…

I'm traveling to Santiago in a couple of weeks. I really enjoy hiking, so I was hoping to find some hikes to do, but I will be by myself so I don't really want to hike alone. My accommodation is in the city, so I was hoping to do mostly day hikes. Does anyone have any recommendations for good (preferably not crazy expensive :)) tour companies in Santiago that do day hikes? Group tours would be great! I'm also open to doing more "touristy" activities, and would love to take a day trip to…
I am considering visiting Chile in August. I have traveled in Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Uruguay and the countries in the North. What is spectacular to see in Chile. I do not know if I will have the time to go to Patagonia. What is the north and central regions did you see that was truly extraordinary?
Sure I can review tour guides but the thoughts of you guys and girls on Thorn Tree are invaluable.
I look forward to hearing from you.
I would like to do the W-trek of Torres del Paine (November 2016). Due to the fact that I'm travelling alone, I would like to do a guided tour (+/- 5 days). Any tips & trucs for an organization? Or will I meet enough people in the refugios to hike with?
I have looked at Turbus and Pullman's online timetables and I cannot find an around 9am bus from Iquique to Calama or San P Atacama. I will be travelling on Thursday 17 November 2016.
I would also like to buy SP Atacama to Salta ticket on Mon 21 Nov on Pullman. Can someone suggest a tour agency in SP Atacama who will buy it for me, with a fee ofc?
Please, is it possible to visit Cerro Pintados Geogliphs by public transport? Any bus from Pozo Almonte or Iquique? How much is it a taxi from Pozo Almonte?
Thank you very much
I'm going to San Pedro Atacama next 9th August and my idea is to have a 3 days tour to Uyuni from the 10th to 12th (book there, right?) ir order to continue the trip to La Paz.
1 - Where does the majority of the Tour ends? The city of Uyuni?
2 - What is the best option to go to La Paz after the Tour by bus?
3 - Do I need to stay one night in Uyuni after the Tour and before La Paz?
I really appreciate all your help once I am going alone and I need to arrive in La Paz by day…
I'm planning a trip with 2 girls to Patagonia for early next year and I was hoping for some advise on trekking options. We are looking for something around 5-7 days that is easy to moderate as I have a knee injury so any big uphills and downhills kill me. We were interested in Torres del Paine but would be open to other areas as well. I could only find info on the W Circuit in that area which everyone labels as difficult. We have 2 weeks so could also do a longer trek or stay somewhere…
