Hi, My wife and I are moving to Santiago (Providencia) for one year. Could you recommend reliable internet site(s) where I can research available furnished apartments?
Thank you.

I will be flying from Guayquil, Ecuador via Santiago to Easter Island and everyone talks about bringing food with you including the LP guide book but no one says what is allowed! I don't want to carry and then be forced to throw it all away. I will be there six days with my family.

Currently driving south and want to knock it over in the low season, and just wondering if anyone has any tips/tricks/recommendations etc. I'm thinking of taking 6 or 7 days for it as I have plenty of time and as a photographer want to be able to stick around in case of bad weather as well, have all the gear so can be completely self-sufficient,an experienced multi-day hiker from Australia. Also, would it be safe to park my van in the park while I'm out on the walk? Open to any and all…

This is proving to be interesting, having now three tickets in my possession to arrive on EI beginning on the 3rd of July I've spent the past days trying to secure a room. When I try to call via Skype it has blocked each and every number stating it is suspended do to over usage. Then I go to use Viber and Whatsapp and these too will not process a single call to EI. No problem I'll use e-mail. Each and everyone has been sent successfully with no response. I've never seen the like of this 'black…

Hello there.
I'm going to be in Chile (Concepcion) in October and will add a week for myself to this trip. I was thinking of heading town to Puerto Montt, hire a car, and do a round trip through Argentinia and all the way down to lago General Careras and along the Carrera Austral back to Puerto Montt. I'm aware there is plenty of exciting things for me to see and do - on a good day. But what can I expect in mid October? Will the trails be too muddy to hike, the mountains hidden in low hanging…

Hello there.
Does somebody know if the futaleufu river can be rafted in October, or would there still be too much water?
Thanks for advice

Hi Everyone,

I planning to do the W-Trek the first week of October - below is what I'm planning. I know early October isn't the best weather wise - do you think I need to keep the extra buffer day at the end? Let me know if you think there's anything I should change or if the plan looks okay.

Day 1 - Fly to Punta Arenas in the morning, travel to Punto Arenas, Night in Puerto Natales
Day 2 - W-Trek Day 1 (West to East), night at Refugio Grey
Day 3 - W-Trek Day 2, night at Refugio Paine Grande
Day…

I'm landing in SCL on a Saturday morning next January and leaving SCL on the Monday after next, so essentially a 9-day trip in which I would like to go down to see Laguna San Rafael for a 3 day trip (during which I'd also like to poke around Lago General Carrera a bit if I have time) and spend the remaining 6 days in the Puerto Montt/Lakes area (which I have visited before, but San Rafael I have not). Should I fly to Balmaceda immediately upon landing in SCL and then fly back to Puerto Montt…

Hello!
We are arriving in Santiago on December 28th with our 3 kids (14, 15, 17) for 7 days, although if I can find some good options, we may be able to extend a few more days. One of the kids can't walk/hike long distances and we would love to explore wine country but we would not be good parents if our son has to be our designated driver!

12/28 & 12/29 Santiago
12/30 Day trip to mountains for rafting
12/31-1/1 Drive to Valparaiso or Vina Del Mar for New Years - is it too crowded, should we…

Hi! After having reviewed several posting, we have decided to do the Trek from East to West. There are three of us and I really do not want to take a tent because we want to travel as light as possible. We rather rent a tent at the campsite. Having said that, am I to assume that they do not rent tents at the Campamento Torres? How far would it be for us to stay at the El Chileno (is there a campsite there) to get up early in the morning and go to the lookout? We do not want to pay the high…
