Central America

Kitesurfing activities in Central America

  1. Kite House

The newest operation on the beach offers instruction and rentals on Playa Copal. Instructors speak French and English. It also runs a bit of a flophouse (rooms from US$33) that isn't the best value but feels like a slumber party.

  2. Bob's Cometa Copal

Another reputable kitesurfing school, this seasonal shop is run by American Bob Selfridge, who not only offers kitesurfing lessons with PASA (Professional Air Sports Association) and IKO-certified instructors, but is himself an instructor, lifeguard and emergency medical technician. It’s open November to June.

  3. Kitesurf School 2000

Kitesurf School 2000, the area's original kite shop, prefers you make reservations a couple of days in advance for two days of lessons or equipment rental (basic gear per day US$65). Italian, Spanish and English are spoken. It also has an excellent and incredibly swift repair service and is IKO certified.
