Manfred’s Jamaican Mountain Bike Tours
Based at Apple Valley Park, Manfred’s Jamaican Mountain Bike Tours offers week-long tours of the south coast each week in January and February, with daily excursions geared to moderate riders. A support vehicle is provided. Over the week, you’ll pedal 18km to 42km each day through glorious south-coast scenery to some of the region’s most notable attractions, including YS Falls, Treasure Beach, Oxford Cave, Appleton Rum Estate and the Black River mangroves. Trips are offered in midwinter only and the cost excludes airfare but includes transfers, gratuity and accommodations. You can rent a bike (US$25/100 per day/week).

Hacienda Carabaldi
Hacienda Carabaldi is a 600-acre eco-adventure ranch southwest of town, does trail rides on Paso Fino horses along the Río Mameyes and into the foothills of the rainforest, with time out for swimming and a picnic. Beach rides and simple jaunts around the ranch are also offered, as well as two-hour mountain-biking tours along rainforest trails. Aluminum bikes, with helmet and gloves, are provided for $40 per person.

Blue Mountain Bicycle Tours
If you’re not traveling with a bicycle, join a tour. Blue Mountain Bicycle Tours will pick you up in Kingston or Ocho Rios and take you by bus to the Hardware Gap at 1700m up in the mountains. The downhill cycling tour then begins, and stops along the way include a coffee-roasting facility. You may be sharing the road with 40 other cyclists.
