Were flying into Sal on december for a 12 day trip.
We would really like to visit at least one more island rather than stay at the same place for the entire trip.
Ive read everywhere that flying is the easiest way to get around in Cape Verde. However, as were on a budget we will obviously try to find a way around it.
I saw a post from someone mentioning something about just walking up to some private boat owners and offer them some money to take you across. Any experiences with that? is…
Does anyone have referrals for realtors or landowners I may be able to contact regarding buying land on Sal? We're currently looking for about 1-3 hectares near the ocean, away from developments.
Which island would you recommend to pick for a family holiday with a three year old kid in November? Our idea of a perfect holiday is exploring the place and enjoying it, eating local food in small restaurants and "getting the smell" of the place... we will not stay in any big resort.
Thanks for sharing your ideas!
I'm going to West Africa soon and recently thinking on visiting Cape Verde as well. I'm just wondering if anyone of you know something about ferries from Senegal (or Mauritania maybe?) to the islands? I wouldn't like to take a plane. Do you think it's possible in reasonable prices?
My husband and I will spend the first week of May in Cape Verde, and we're hoping to get info on hiking on Santo Antão. We're hoping to do two day hikes independently, but we'd hire a guide if we can't collect enough information to go it alone.
The Bradt Guide lists seven hikes on Santo Antão (LP publishes but one chapter on the entire nation), but we're eager to get advice on which routes are best, which town is the best place to stay, or if we should stay in a rural B&B along a hiking route.
Hi everyone...just looking info for a week in Cape Verde with a pal..we are into surf, quiet beaches and maybe one night of party...which islands should we visit?..is it a good time of the year to go?
Does anyone know whether it would be possible to travel from Sao Vicento to Santo Antao on New Year's Day? can't find any information on ferries on public holidays...Thanks!
Ehi, I will be arriving in Boa Vista tomorrow (saturday 12th) staying 3 days then moving to Santiago for another 3 days.
Any suggestions on what to do and where to eat in those 2 places?
