Looking for advice on which Islands to target, best way to travel from island to island and words of wisdom for my travels.
Planning to travel from October 15 to December 15 in the Canary's. Thinking of using Airbnb and hostels and staying one week in each place. Do not want to rent a car so everything has to be accessible by public transportation. I want to paint a painting a day!

Searching for Winter sun I made a sudden decision to book three weeks in Lanzarote / Gran Canaria. My question is to anyone who might give an opinion as to how long each island is worth given our interests. We would like to stay in a quiet place. I realise that the Canaries are not 'quiet' destinations but I think there are quieter areas on each island? We want to do lots of walking, hopefully swim in the sea (with wetsuits?), do a bit of sight-seeing - museums, scenery ... and generally relax…

My wife and I (early 30s) are going to the Canaries for a week May 6-13th for the purpose of learning to windsurf. We expect to spend 4-5 days in lessons/practice and a couple days exploring/resting. I am having difficulty understanding if the North or South of Fuerta is better for beginners.

We had almost settled on Flag Beach Windsurf School but some of the reviews are horrendous. I have also heard Jandia and M.Jable are very German, is this a big deal?

Ideally we would like to not be in an…

Hi

have 3 weeks around Xmas and wish to head to the Canaries. Want to do about 10 days hiking and 10 days visiting interesting places that have absolutely nothing resembling package tourism. Would consider two islands perhaps if there was a reasonable ferry connection, so Gomerra and Tenerife possibly? But if you have any great ideas or experience please let me know. Ideally need to hike between places offering accommodation, or stay somewhere for a few days where we could do a few…

Hello all

I will be travelling to La Palma in May and will be hiking in the interior of the island for three days. Is there anywhere in Santa Cruz de la Palma where I can store excess luggage (around 6-7 kilograms) for 3-4 days?

Thankyou

Hi there!

I plan to visit every (major) Canary island in just 80 hours, and would like some feedback and recommendations on the way. Flights and cars are already booked, but I am flexible when it comes to what to do on each island. This trip takes place next week.

Please note: I am well aware of how rushed this trip is, but this is how I like to travel. Main interests lie in nature and photography, but this tour also includes some cultural experiences, beaches, gastronomy, and nightlife.

I travel to Lanzarote next week(10th of March) and I want to put my tent up somewhere. Are there any campings open along Playa Blanca, Puerto del Carmen or Costa Teguise by the time I get there?

August 2017

Greetings All,

New to the site and a tab sceptical to be honest, be here goes.

I'm hoping to visit the Canaries between 12th and 22nd August 2017 for an All Inclusive 7 or 10 day holiday. Sadly I find myself in a situation as a 42 yr old straight male that all my friends have families and since I'm divorced I've actually no one to go with.

I was therefore wondering if anyone was planning to be out that way during this period? Would it be possible to maybe link in with a group? I've yet to…

My boyfriend and I have booked flights to Lanzarote for a week in late March. We were hoping to do lots of outdoor activities and stay somewhere relatively quiet/rural. Most of the air bnb's we looked up are now fully booked, and as we were planning on hiring a car anyway we're now thinking about hiring a camper van instead. We thought that way we'd combine accommodation and transport in one so hopefully save a bit of money, and be able to chase the sun a bit. Does anyone have any experience of…

My family of 9 adults is planning a two week vacation to the Canary Islands at the first of June this year. We love to hike, sight-see, snorkel, tour colonial cities and country-sides. We are not interested in surfing, but do like to visit beaches for short trips. Our family vacations are usually fast paced and packed with lots of activities. We have toured countries in motor homes and also rented houses and toured in vans. I am just not sure which islands to visit as they are all so…
