Below is a rough sketch of a proposed holiday for myself and my wife. We are just over 60 and we are looking for a quiet holiday to break up the winter. If you have time please could you take a look at the schedule I’ve thought of and suggest any changes that you think would make it a better three weeks. We are looking to do a lot of walking and naturally want to get a feel for ‘local life’. We are hoping to swim in the sea and want to keep the cost down by self-catering. Three important…
Question for people who know Tenerife: Is the last week of November still a good period to visit Tenerife?
I heard about the great night skies and would like to see it for myself. I'd also like to hike to the top of El Teide, if the weather allows me to.
If the skies are still bright, where do you suggest me to go? I'm arriving/leaving at the airport in the south, but I think i'd prefer the greener north. La Orotava looks like a nice base...?
Myself and my wife (both early 60s)have just decided we want to get away from about mid November to early December - probably three weeks. We have always shied away from the Canaries (too touristy) but having done some initial research I feel that we may find peace and quiet, good walking and decent beaches in La Palma and La Gomera? I am hoping for some advice about Tenerife as it seems we will need to fly there first and then catch ferries. Does anyone have any strong opinions about how long…
in October I will be back to Canarias and this is time it is for Gran Canaria. I want to do the Saint Jakob trail over there, it is a 66 km hike from North to South, or viceversa.
Does anybody wants to join?
I´ll be there from Oct 17 to 24
I really hope someone can help us. We are desperately trying to organise some transport.
We are organising a group of 14 people to go to tenerife. We are doing a hike of teide for charity.
We have to transport the group on 4 journeys on different days
Tenerife south airport - vilaflor
Vilaflor to mont blanca ( start of teide trek )
Mont blanca - vilaflor
Vilaflor to El Bailadero
Unfortunately the Bus does not work as its timings do not fit. We have one person able to drive.
Hi there, I'm looking to stay somewhere in the Canary Islands over January and February 2017. Does anyone recommend a certain area? If so - why? Also does anyone on this forum have places to rent long term, ie for 2 months. Would love to hear from you and get your advice please.
I am planning holidays onTenerife soon and I was looking for a place where I can rent a boat.
There is not many companies which offers that and it is quite expensive ;/
The cheapest one I found is: boats.ontenerife.eu
Do you know if there is sth cheaper or you can recommend sth?
I am considering two weeks in La Gomera next winter and this to as a threesome, my girlfriend, me and baby. I am just starting my research so forgive the perhaps superficial questions at this stage.
Some background first. I enjoy using any winter trip away to do a bit of exercise, be it walking or cycling. We, as a unit, like good food, wine and fresh air. Nothing noisy but some joie de vivre wherever we will stay would be welcome.
Essentially, any directions as to where to stay, type of…
We'll be travelling to Tenerife in June for 16 days with our 8 month old baby. First trip with the little one. We are wondering if we can do two more islands in this timeframe or just stick to two in total. We were thinking of La Palma and La Gomera.
We like walking, however we're not sure how we'll like long hikes with the extra weight. We would also like to log a few dives if possible.
We were also wondering if we should rent a car on all of these islands or is it easy to travel by bus…
