A Commercial Dr fixture for more than 70 years and a loud echo of the Drive's counter-culture heyday, this is the bookshop to pick-up the latest copy of Proletarian magazine. But it's not all revolutionary fervor. The sky-blue stacks include art and cookery tomes – with new and used volumes mixed together – alongside their 'Labour' and 'Philosophy & Political Economy' sections.
Before you leave, peruse the noticeboard near the door for postings about area events, readings and edgy happenings. And check the website for the latest store hours, which were scheduled to be extended at the time of our visit.
