Lonely Planet review

Arrive off-peak at this tiny hole-in-the-wall to snag a seat at the turquoise-colored counter. Listening to the grassroots Mexican soundtrack and the kitchen staff chatting in Spanish is the perfect accompaniment to a few superbly prepared soft tacos: go for the four-part combo and choose from fillings such as grilled fish, pork cheeks and house-marinated beef, made with top-notch, locally sourced ingredients.

Vegetarians also have some tasty choices such as the veggie combo (cheaper than the meat combo) and quesadillas. Save room for a glass of cinnamon-flavored horchata (a milkshake-style traditional beverage).
