Sophie's Cosmic Café information
Slide between the oversized knife and fork flanking the entrance and step into one of Vancouver's favorite retro-look diners, with a cornucopia of kitsch lining the walls. Burgers and big-ass milkshakes dominate the menu, but breakfast is the best reason to come. Expect weekend queues as you await your appointment with a heaping plate of eggs and chorizo sausage.
To avoid line-ups, soak up the decor with an afternoon window seat – although you won't see much outside past the windowsill of junk-shop bowling trophies – coupled with a pyramid-sized apple pie slice (you can jog up and down the hill to and from the beach to work it off). There's also a good kids menu here.
