Vancouver Symphony Orchestra information
Led by popular maestro Bramwell Tovey, the city's stirring symphony orchestra serves up accessible classics and 'pops.' Shows to look out for include Symphony Sundays and film nights (when live scores are performed to classic movies), plus visits from revered soloists. There's also a series of themed light matinees and Kids' Koncerts to entice children from their Justin Bieber–loving ways. Concerts often take place at the Orpheum Theatre, but the orchestra frequently unpacks its kettledrums at auditoriums across the Lower Mainland.
