Walk by the stone lions up to the 2nd floor of Hsin Kuang shopping centre and discover this Cantonese-style banquet hall. Dim sum rules – dozens upon dozens of dishes (dumplings, wantons, satays, pork buns, spring rolls etc, including vegetarian) are wheeled out and enthusiastically proffered. The bathrooms are a source of much pride.

    A Chinatown Original

    This enormous restaurant with soaring ceilings is one of the best-known places in Toronto's frenetic Chinatown. The food here is pretty good - dim sum by far the best menu option - and it's normally busy with an older, devoted clientele. Weekend mornings are busy!

    Service is very friendly, but be sure to talk to your server directly (vs. the people pushing the dim-sum carts) if you want a thorough explanation of the food. It's a good restaurant, but there are so many to choose from in this busy little area that you needn't feel obligated if the large restaurant isn't your thing.
