Lonely Planet review for Commensal

Cafeteria-style Commensal sells 100-plus buffet dishes from breakfast to dinner, many of them priced by weight (lasagna is $2.43 per 100g). Fresh salads, hot mains with international flavors, and naturally sweetened desserts are a step above normal cafeteria food. Also accommodates most dietary restrictions.

    Lots to choose from

    dave_de_toronto recommends this,

Commensal is the old standard in Toronto ( and Montreal ) for moderately priced, and very tasty vegetarian food. The menu has remained unchanged since this satellite of the Quebec-based health food empire opened its doors well over ten years ago. But be warned: Your plate is weighed at the cash register - Don't fill up your plate with baked potatoes when it is the same price as that quiche, terrine, or any one of their very popular dishes.
