Lonely Planet review for High Park
Toronto’s biggest park is the delightfully unkempt High Park – unfurl a picnic blanket, swim, play tennis, cycle around, ice-skate or just sit amongst great stands of oaks and watch the sunset. Also here is the stage for Dream in High Park, Grenadier Pond where people ice-skate in winter, the animal paddocks (a small children’s zoo) and Colborne Lodge, a Regency-style cottage built in 1836 by the Howard family, who donated much of High Park to the city in 1873.
