Saskatchewan

Getting there & around

From Regina and Saskatoon there are flights to/from other Canadian cities, as well as to Minneapolis, Minnesota. Transwest Air (800-667-9356; www.transwestair.com) flies from as far south as Regina to as far north as Uranium City.

Buses to Alberta or Winnipeg and beyond are handled by Greyhound Canada. Within the province, Saskatchewan Transportation Company (STC; 800-663-7181; www.stcbus.com) takes over Greyhound Canada’s routes and runs services between more than 200 communities.

Saskatchewan roads cross into Montana and North Dakota in the USA, and plenty of roads lead east into Manitoba or west into Alberta. The Trans-Canada Hwy (Hwy 1) goes through Regina, the Yellowhead Hwy (Hwy 16) through Saskatoon.

VIA Rail’s Canadian passes through Saskatoon three times weekly.
