Introducing Grasslands National Park
If you’ve ever wanted to feel home on the range, then this park (www.pc.gc.ca/pn-np/sk/grasslands; per person $4, tent/RV sites $7/8), between Val Marie and Killdear is for you. Here, treeless, rolling grassy hills meet the endless sky. Take a drive through on the self-drive tour or, better yet, camp out for the night – just don’t plan on hanging up that hammock. If you’re lucky you’ll run into the 75 or so bison that call the park home. If you’re unlucky, it’ll rain, your car will get stuck and you’ll run into the 75 or so bison.
