    Marché de Maisonneuve

About 20 farm stalls, and inside, a dozen vendors of meat, cheese, fresh vegetables, tasty pastries and pastas in a beautiful beaux-arts building (1912–14) in Maisonneuve, girded by pretty gardens.

    Marché St-Jacques

Traditional food and vegetable stalls and shops still occupy their 1931 art-deco home, in the northern reach of the Village. In the spring and summer, the market keeps longer hours (6am to midnight daily).

    Marché Atwater

Located right on the banks of the Canal de Lachine, with scores of vendors outside and high-class delicatessens and specialty food shops inside, in the tiled, vaulted hall under the art-deco clock tower. Try the Boucherie Claude & Henri for beautiful racks of lamb, the bakery Première Moisson for baguettes or the astounding Fromagerie du Marché Atwater, whose hundreds of cheeses reach from runny triple crèmes to hard goudas.

    Marché Jean Talon

The gem of Little Italy, this kaleidoscopic market is perfect for assembling a gourmet picnic or partaking in a little afternoon grazing. A great stop is Marché des Saveurs, devoted entirely to Québec specialties such as wine and cider, fresh cheeses, smoked meats and preserves. The market sprawls south of Rue Jean-Talon between Blvd St-Laurent and Rue St-Denis.
