This thread is intended to contain information useful to people travelling to Canada - please feel free to add anything relevant to it! Before we start though, here's some advice from the TT team:
1. Do a TT search! At least five posters a week ask what to do in Toronto, whether to go visit Niagara Falls on their way around the world, and whether it's possible to work under the table/overstay a tourist visa. The road is well travelled. Find those threads, add a reply (which brings the topic to…
My flight out to Iceland from the UK is at 6:30am (gmt) and I land in Iceland 8:30am (also gmt). I then have 2 hours to make my Toronto flight, leaving at 10:30am. I have never swapped flights before so I'm kinda new to this connection malarkey, will I be ok to make the flight?
Without sounding too dumb/naive/ignorant, how does it work? Do I walk off the plane, queue up to show my passport and then have to go back round again as if starting from the beginning? Or, does the queue bit…
I am planning on travelling to Manitoba, Canada in June 2015. More specifically, I am trying to make my way to Nelson House, in the Northen Territories. After doing some research, I found that the nearest town is Thompson. I would assume that the closest major city would be Winnipeg. I am from Malaysia, so would like to find out the best and quickest way to get there.Which airlines fly into Thompson? Which major city do i need to get to first? From Thompson, what are my options…
I'm planning to ride my bike through canada from the east coast to the west (montreal - vancouver), i saw there is a route that cross it and it's bike friendly.
I plan to camp with a tent, in order to spare money as much as possible, is that free camping prohibited there? If so, what is the average price for a night in a camping site?
Moreover, is there free running water along this route?
I'm trying to calculate the approximate cost of this trip, would you try to help me?
just announced rail fare from Toronto airport to city centre will be $27,50 one way BUT that's starting next year 2015 spring, right now only option, is you can $50-70cab or take public transit. myself if I did not have mound of luggage and time, would opt for public transit TTC , Brampton transit bus from airport lower level gate S much cheaper lots of room for luggage if Brampton my destination to get the GO train another cheaper option. for which you need small change.…
My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to Montreal and Quebec City in late December/early January. We will be there over New Year's Eve and I was hoping to get some advice from anyone who has celebrated the New Year in either city. Thoughts on which is better? Thanks so much!
So I was thinking about working in a summercamp in British Columbia next summer, but Im not really sure how to handle it. Theres a couple of websites that claim to help (i.e. https://www.go-nyquest.com/), I would rather organize it myself, but would like some help if anyone had any ideas to what camp, how and whom to contact and so on

I was actually new in this forum and looking forward to hear from you guys, can you share your thoughts for a nice arrangement of itinerary? My sisters and I will be having a trip from Europe to Vancouver for next week and we're still in the planning process, I would appreciate if you do suggest places. And also, we guys need a pocket wifi during the travel because we can't switch sim cards for personal and work related reasons. Do you have suggestions, if we can rent some in…
We are planning our first trip overseas and I am really excited but would appreciate some advice.
Are Lakes Louise and Moraine still a beautiful turquoise colour in late August early September? The travel agent is suggesting that we should go in the middle of June, but I am worried that if there is a late winter the lakes might still be frozen. We really want to see the lakes in all their glory. Which is the better time to travel and see them?
