Martello Tower 1
Martello Tower 1 is the only one of the original towers regularly open to the public. Because of its small size, many visitors balk at having to pay admission here. Those who do go in are often pleasantly surprised – packed into the compact tower are a number of fascinating exhibits, which delve into the engineering history of the structures and describe living conditions for the soldiers based here.

Observatoire de la Capitale
Head 221m up to the 31st floor for great views of the Old Town, the St Lawrence River and (if it’s clear enough) even the Laurentian Mountains. It all helps to get your bearings, while the information panels along the way will get you up to speed on some of the local history.
