Lonely Planet review for Casse-Crêpe Breton
Tiny and unassuming, this perennial favorite specializes in hot, fresh crepes of every kind starting as low as $4. Some diners like to sit at the counter and watch the chef at work.

Delightful and delicious!

We stopped here intending to get a small dinner here and ended up leaving stuffed. My fiance and I each got a savory crepe (the roast beef and the egg combinations recommended on the menu) and they were excellent. After we were finished we couldn't help ordering a dessert crepe as well. We managed to waddle out of there just as it was starting to get really busy (about 5:30 or 6pm, I think). I thought the value was good and I loved the atmosphere. Try to get in before the meal rush.

Charming

I ate here several times during my summer in Quebec. Each time was just as wonderful as the first. The staff is in costume, the food is reasonably priced, and it's the most perfect setting for tea or coffee on a cold, rainy day. The food never disappointed me and I would personally recommend any of the maple dessert crepes.

A Welcome Respite, but...

I too stopped in here with a group of student friends - it's cheap, the food's good and the portions auite large - on a wet and windy afternoon in the Old Town.
It's partiularly fun to sit at the counter and watch the chefs prepare you're meal; we didn't? we sat in the booths and the service was diabolically slow. We were 8 diners in total, I assu,e they couldn't cope on a busier day, but we waited a good 90 minutes before the food turned up.

Simple and friendly

The in-theme costume of the friendly waitress makes the atmosphere just a little cheesy, but our visit in the middle of a cold and rainy afternoon was the perfect escape for a quick and tasty meal. Lots of other choices on and around rue St Jean as well.
