Inside Le Priori Hotel, Toast! is another contender for best restaurant in the city. The trim, attractive dining room with fireplace and fiery red decor is the setting for an eclectic array of dishes, from foie gras appetizers (one of the house specialties) to mains like poached lobster risotto or teriyaki-glazed scallops with crispy pork belly, to maple-pear clafoutis for dessert. Most items on the menu cost around $15; from these you can build as simple or as complex a meal as you like. You’ll find excellent wine selections, and generally good service. In the summer, you can dine alfresco in the vine-covered courtyard out back.
