Public transportation
Trius Tours (902-566-5664; one-way fare $1.50) operates the anemic city transit within Charlottetown. One bus makes various loops through the city, stopping sporadically at Confederation Centre between 9:20am and 2:40pm.
Car & motorcycle
The municipal parking lots near the tourist office and Peak’s Wharf charge $6 per day. One loonie gets you two hours at any of the town’s parking meters, which operate between 8am and 6pm on weekdays.

Fares are standardized and priced by zones. Between the waterfront and Hwy 1 there are three zones. Travel within this area is about $5, plus $1 per extra person. City Taxi (902-892-6567) and Yellow Cab PEI (902-566-6666) provide good service.
Bicycle
Riding is a great way to get around this quaint town. MacQueen’s Bicycles (902-368-2453; www.macqueens.com; 430 Queen St; per day/week $25/125) rents a variety of quality bikes. Children’s models are half price. Smooth Cycle (902-566-5530; www.smoothcycle.com; 330 University Ave; per day/week $25/110) also provides super service. Both of these operators also offer excellent customized island-wide tours of the Confederation Trail.
