Slip into an art deco booth, draw the burgundy curtains and pretend you are escaping the paparazzi - if you were famous, this is where you'd go. The dark yet chic ambience is matched by fine mains such as lobster crepes or seafood coconut curry. Don't leave without taking a cocktail or dessert in the even more elaborate upstairs lounge.

    Off Broadway, an amazing dinner - 42nd Street relax & enjoy

    Off Broadway retaurant in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island has been open for so long I can't exactly remember how many years, but more than 20. Other than a few new menu items from time to time, a new staff member or two and a little tweak of the decor, very little has changed in that time. Thank goodness!

    It was there that I fell in love with a great Caesar Salad which was fairly new to PEI at the time. They still make one of the best and I am very picky about that particular salad. The crepes are still amazing, and every once in a while they bring back a menu favourite from the past, which of course brings back lots of great memories! Pastrami and cheese crepes, and Hungarian crepe for dessert was my long time favourite there. Chicken Divan crepes were also a huge hit, and I have friends who became quite addicted to those!

    One of the mosty consistently great restaurants in this small city that has so many. fantastic eating establishments. A sentimental favourite of both my husband and I and our daughter and her fiancé as well. They love the ambiance of the upstairs 42nd Street lounge so much, they have booked their New Year's Day wedding there for 2010.
