This thread is intended to contain information useful to people travelling to Canada - please feel free to add anything relevant to it! Before we start though, here's some advice from the TT team:

  1. Do a TT search! At least five posters a week ask what to do in Toronto, whether to go visit Niagara Falls on their way around the world, and whether it's possible to work under the table/overstay a tourist visa. The road is well travelled. Find those threads, add a reply (which brings the…

Hello fellow travellers!

I'm looking for tips for the most efficient route to get from the Abbotsford airport into central Vancouver or Surrey central. I may be arriving a bit late in the day which may narrow down my options.

I know there shuttles and taxis available but if anyone has any other tips, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Many thanks in advance!

~Constance

Hello all. Have looked on this site and web links provided by people on the Canada Forum. Sent for some brochures from the Quebec Tourism Bureau. Am in my mid 60s, but am active and healthy.

People I know either go to Murmansk or Las Vegas, so I don't have much firsthand info re Quebec. I have met some people from Montreal, and I want to spend a few days there. Will rent a car. I like hiking and photography. I also run. Are motorists as courteous to runners and cyclists in Quebec as…

Hello

I am currently living in my home county of Scotland and I have recently received Canadian citizenship through descent and my Canadian Passport has just arrived through the post.

My girlfriend and I plan on moving to Canada this August, this will be our first time in Canada. She is travelling on a 2 year IEC (working holiday visa.) We plan on having a 2 week holiday in California on the way over to visit friends.

My questions are; do I need an ESTA card for travelling through the states…

Hi
US citizen - I can't believe I got rejected for rehabilitation. ~50 years ago I stole a mescaline plant from a university greenhouse while attending college. I got 2 yrs probation and a felony for possession and larceny. I haven't had any criminal arrests since. I'm now 70 and wanted to visit Canada. I am a Clinical Social Worker and Substance Abuse Professional working with children and families. Yet this wasn't enough to gain entry. Am I really the type of person that is a danger to Canada…

Hi,

I'm looking to travel to the Maritimes for the first time, and after having looked at both PEI and Cape Breton on Google Maps, I'm unsure of which one to choose, and for how long.

I have 10 days to spend (not including traveling). I'm most interested in: eating seafood; doing hikes/tours/visits related to French Canadian culture, as well as First Nations cultures. By "hiking" I probably mean something like walks that you can do in a few hours or a day; nothing involving boots, camping…

r 2 nights. I've been reading about Carmanah Walbran, and I am deeply intrigued and really want to go. Can anyone provide any suggestions or guidance?

Would it be possible to drive from Courtenay to the park (@ 5 hours) and maybe stay in Port Alberni or Lake Cowichan on the way back?

Basically we have from July 4-8th. I can't get Carmanah out of my head but I just don't know how doable it is.

Thank you in advance for your advice!

Hi all,

We are celebrating our first wedding anniversary in the coming month. And we have planned for a two week trip to different places in Ontario. Some of the places are already fixed. We wish to visit Niagara, Thunder Bay, and some more beautiful places. In our search, we came to know about Algonquin Park where there are a variety of activities like hiking, biking and fishing, and a lot of other entertaining and informative areas.

So, we are planning to visit the place and stay there for…

Hi all!

A friend and I are planning to go to Banff for ~6 days. I was thinking of flying to Calgary and start around Banff for 2 days, go up to Lake Louise area for one day, and then spend 2 more days around Jasper, before heading to Edmonton for a flight back.

How does that sound? Trying to get to much? Should we only focus on Banff and LL and drop Jasper?

Thanks!!
Guy
