Victorian Charm Bed & Breakfast
Address
Lonely Planet review
For those who never want to go too far from home, this Victorian style B&B (only a stone's throw from the Fallsview high rises) is a welcoming alternative. The building, circa 1889, still has the original hardwood floors and classic veranda, and the rooms maintain the traditional aesthetic.
Unlike the River Rd B&Bs, it's only a short walk from the Victorian to some of the best falls views. The neighborhood itself however isn't as inviting, only a few blocks from gritty and abandoned storefronts; the leafy and well-maintained Victorian stands out. While the decor verges on the chintzy - flowers are a theme throughout - it's not overbearing and most of the rooms have enough natural sunlight to offset any creeping nostalgia for your grandparents. The Garden Room, while not especially large, does have a small balcony overlooking the backyard garden. All of the rooms (except the Garden room) have jacuzzis, wi-fi access and little old TVs. Breakfast in the conservatory is a social occasion and the always-attentive owner can provide helpful advice in English, French or Spanish.
