This thread is intended to contain information useful to people travelling to Canada - please feel free to add anything relevant to it! Before we start though, here's some advice from the TT team:
Do a TT search! At least five posters a week ask what to do in Toronto, whether to go visit Niagara Falls on their way around the world, and whether it's possible to work under the table/overstay a tourist visa. The road is well travelled. Find those threads, add a reply (which brings the…
This weekend at the downtown Mattamy Centre (aka Maple Leaf Gardens), Verge travel magazine will be featuring a travel expo called 'Go Global'. The focus will be on work/study/volunteering abroad. Apparently there'll also be a travel foto display. The location is just off the main 'spine' of the city, Yonge street.
I am done. The end.
Hi, could anyone tell me if it is possible to buy a prepaid SIM card at Halifax airport, or perhaps elsewhere in Halifax. I've checked online and all I can find are outfits who want to mail you such a card. Not much use when you're on the move!
The Canadian eTA scheme, similar to the US ESTA was supposed to come into effect on 15 March but early in March it was postponed until 30 September now just a few days before that deadline it has been postponed again until 10 November, will it ever happen?
I am a registered massage therapist from MB and have an opportunity to take a job at the Rimrock hotel in Banff. The pay and benefits sounds very good, almost too good to be true so I am looking for some feedback on what it is like to work for them and how it is living there... I would be staying in staff accommodations at least to start out. Ive always wanted to live in the mountains for a while and this seems like a good chance but I want to avoid any unpleasant things I may be overlooking…
I have been offered a job in Jasper starting mid-October, and I am in two minds about it. I wanted to ask if any one has done a winter season there? I have done seasons in Banff, Whistler and Fernie. And I would love to explore Jasper this winter but worried I will not be making enough money to save for my summer time adventure. Even in my interview they did say that it is quiet in the winter months but I wanted to know just how quiet is quiet? I will be staying in staff…
Does anyone know if there is a ferry that runs between Scotts Bay and Parrsboro or in that vicinity? I will be staying in the Kentville area and would love to visit Parrsboro but would like to avoid making the long drive to Truro and beyond. Thanks.
I am planning on travelling around Canada May 2017 to September/October. This is my first time backpacking and I will be alone so feel a bit nervous and also unsure on where to start my trip or what to do on my trip. I am looking to work for a bit too and hoping that I will make friends when I am out there.
Any tips or advice would be really appreciated :)
