The Sydney airport is none too busy. A $10 airport improvement fee must be paid at a separate counter by all departing passengers. Air Canada Jazz (902-873-5000, 888-247-2262; www.aircanada.com) flies between Sydney and Halifax ($375 to $800, 45 minutes, four times daily). Air Saint-Pierre (902-562-3140, 877-277-7765; www.airsaintpierre.com) flies to Sydney ($300, two hours) from early July to early September, on Thursdays and Sundays.

The Acadian Lines bus depot is at 99 Terminal Dr. There are also a number of shuttle services to Halifax.
