Description provided by property
The Digby Backpackers Inn is a small friendly hostel, located right in Digby, walking distance from boardwalk, fishermen's wharf and restaurants. Comfortable, ready-made beds, free towels, fully equipped kitchen, spacious living room, bbq, fire pit and a garden to relax in at the end of the day. Simple breakfast is included.
Digby is located right on the Bay of Fundy, with its highest tides in the world. Of course the Digby scallops are know worldwide, but we also have some pretty awesome lobster. If you ask me, the lobster out of the Bay of Fundy is the most succulent, tasty lobster you'll ever have!
One of the most popular daytrips from our hostel is the whale watching, some of the best in North America, combined with some great scenic hikes.
Another destination that should be on your list if you really want to see Canada is Annapolis Royal. Annapolis Royal is Canada's oldest permanent European settlement and the original capital of Nova Scotia. Be amazed by beautiful scenery and historical places that form the foundation of Canada as it stands today. Annapolis Royal can be reached by local transit in about 35 minutes.
Bear River is a stones throw away and offers unique architecture, a large artist community, some eclectic and amazing shops, and several vineyards offering wine tastings and tours. This unique village partially sits on stilts over a tidal river.
