Canadian restaurants in Northwest Territories

  1. A

    Wildcat Café

A bit of history that's worth a visit in its own right, the Wildcat has been churning food out of this modest Old Town log cabin since 1937. Saved from demolition in 1976, it currently operates under a different vendor each summer, meaning the menu, prices and opening hours vary. There's a pleasant summer deck and a popular ice-cream window.

  2. B

    Tonimoes

With standard breakfasts, burger-y lunches and a surf-and-turf dinner menu, this low-lit dining room is the town's sole respectable eatery.

  3. Dehcho Grill

Food in the Fort of the Forks mixes international standards (NY Steak and Chicken Parmigiano) with local sensations (Arctic char and salmon). If you're not up for the full spread, try the egg-biased breakfasts or the burgers (famous, apparently).

  4. C

    Surly Bob's

Yes the proprietor's named Bob and yes, he's sometimes surly; but you don't come to this subterranean sports bar for pleases and thank-yous. You come instead for legendary chicken wings, a varied menu and some infamous Yellowknife backwards-coming-forwards bonhomie.
