This thread is intended to contain information useful to people travelling to Canada - please feel free to add anything relevant to it! Before we start though, here's some advice from the TT team:

  1. Do a TT search! At least five posters a week ask what to do in Toronto, whether to go visit Niagara Falls on their way around the world, and whether it's possible to work under the table/overstay a tourist visa. The road is well travelled. Find those threads, add a reply (which brings the…

I need to apply for eTA.
I officially finished work a few weeks ago but still haven't gotten my last paycheck.

  1. Do I need to write that I'm unemployed or that I am?
  2. Does being unemployed deny me of getting an eTA?

Thanks

Hi All,

I am planning to do a 9 Day Photography Trip (National Parks, Landscape, Nature, Sunrise, Sunsets, Milky Way, Star Trail, Northern Lights etc) of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, during the July 4th week

I have been to Banff, Jasper and hoping to have "similar" kind of “breathtaking” shots taken in this region, though I completely understand that this part of Canada has a different landscape.

I am flying into and out of Halifax and will have a Car with me. I love driving and am used to…

Looking for any advice for a family of three (2 adults, 1 14 yr old) travelling from Grande Prairie, Alberta to Yellowknife, Northwest Territory. We will be towing a travel trailer, so campground advice is very appreciated. Interests include beginner hiking, indigenous culture and waterfall viewing. We have a few ideas from our own research but would like suggestions from actual travellers. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I plan to drive from Vancouver to Seattle. I have been checking around if I require a International Driving License to drive in Vancouver and also Seattle. Some mentioned that if I am a tourist of less than 3 months, I could just do with a driving license issued in my home country.

Is this true?

Anyone has any ideas on this?

thanks in advance, if you have any answers.

We are driving to Campbell River from Merritt via this ferry in mid July. Given the distances we are travelling, our timings are a little uncertain but I'm wondering if, nonetheless, it would be advisable to book this ferry? All advice gratefully received..

Hi everyone,

Thinking about a winter trip to Canada for me and my fiance, specific destination and itinerary have yet to be decided and we're quite flexible.

I'm basically after some advice on where to go/what to do and the logistical challenges of travelling around Canada in the winter. My fiance loves the snow! So the snowier the adventure the better! I guess my dream is to hire a camper van (RV!) to travel round in, which would give us lots of freedom but I'm concerned about the feasibility…

Looking for female companion (I'm male, 61 and love to explore remote places, hike, camp, etc) for road trip from southwest Oregon to British Columbia. I've very flexible regarding time away on the road trip but would like at least 3 weeks. Looking for someone older, close to my age (61). Would like to get at least 1/2 up BC and return by way of Montana and then drift back to the west coast. Will wild camp along the way. I drive a 2015 Tacoma pickup with compact, popup/slide in camper. I…
