This thread is intended to contain information useful to people travelling to Canada - please feel free to add anything relevant to it! Before we start though, here's some advice from the TT team:

At least five posters a week ask what to do in Toronto, whether to go visit Niagara Falls on their way around the world, and whether it's possible to work under the table/overstay a tourist visa. The road is well travelled. Find those threads, add a reply (which brings the topic to…

I'll be traveling to Vancouver in several weeks w/a group of 8 (9 total). Torn between getting two apts/condos in downtown to be close to the action/transportation hubs/etc. or a house in areas right outside of downtown (specifically near Riley Park or in Kensington - Cedar Cottage) that can accommodate all of us. We would all like to stay under the same roof, but can't ignore the convenience (time & $ savings), views, etc. of staying in downtown. Is it a hassle to get to/from these areas…
Hey thorn tree,
I'm travelling to t.o. in a bit, and I have some questions. Where is the HI in t.o. located? Are there any decent/good hostels in the financial district? Is Planet Traveller a good hostel for a pregnant woman to stay at?
Where is Kensington Market located? I heard that it is hard to find. I once stumbled upon a dummy market with four stalls, but I was sure this wasn't it. It's just too small, and people talk about Kensington Market a lot, so it didn't quite seem right!…
Me and a few friends would like to spend a few days in a quiet place in nature somewhere in British Columbia. Ideally the place is within 2-3 hour drive from Vancouver, it is isolated, it has an object that can accommodate 4 people. We are looking for a retreat type of place. Does anyone knows of anything like it?
My family has the opportunity to move to Vancouver from Waterloo Ontario. We've been once and thought it was absolutely stunning but we hear quite a bit about the dreaded rain! lol
We hate Ontario winters but have been told that the rain in Vancouver is even worse, how bad is it?
I know it's more expensive in Vancouver as well but is this reflected in the wages there, does the average job pay more to compensate for the higher cost of living?
