  1. Cherry Brook Zoo

    In 2002 Saint John cut all funding for the Cherry Brook Zoo so local residents began a monthly sponsorship program. Now the zoo is funded entirely through the program, making it the only 'people's zoo' in Canada. Emphasis is on endangered animals and how to combat extinction. It's a simple place with lots of heart but the animals look overfed and gloomy.
