Carleton Martello Tower
The Carleton Martello Tower is just off Lancaster Ave, which leads to the Digby ferry terminal. A Martello tower is a circular two-story stone coastal fortification. They were first built in England and Ireland at the beginning of the 19th century.

Loyalist House
Dating from 1810, Loyalist House is the city's oldest unchanged building. The Georgian-style place is now a museum, depicting the Loyalist period and contains some fine carpentry. The monument to the Loyalists next to the house is striking.
