Lonely Planet review for Phayathai

Although the jury is out on who serves the city’s best Thai food, this elegant little restaurant on Laurier is a strong contender. It’s hard to go wrong with anything on the menu, with delicious and flavorful seafood soup, tender roasted duck and whole red snapper basted in red chili.

    Not superimpressive

    monaxopaidi does not recommend this,

    We were not very impressed. We tried Red Chicken Curry, Green Chicken Curry and Red Fish Curry, and all of them consisted almost only of meat and had only a little bit of vegetables, especially the fish was only garnished with a few slices of bell peppers. Surprisingly the fish in the Fish Curry was fried (even though not described as such in the menu) and we were charged extra for the rice.
    The atmosphere was very nice though, it is a nice little restaurant and the staff was very friendly. Some of the dishes of other guests there looked very nice, so maybe we were rather unlucky.
