Lonely Planet review for La Louisiane

Montréal meets the Deep South in this casual Cajun eatery, with amazing results. The menu bears the hearty, delicious flavors of jambalaya, shrimp Creole or chicken étoufée, all armed with mysterious peppers and spices. The rich ‘voodoo pasta’ has spicy Cajun sausage and tomatoes in white wine and cream. While you’re here, be sure to check out paintings of street scenes by New Orleans native James Michelopoulos.

I'm going back someday on Blue Bayou

    Ah, La Louisiane!
Excellent spicy food that makes you sweat. Delicious original drinks that remind you of a summer's day on the front porch in Louisiana, even if you've never had one of those days. Genuinely friendly service that is casual without being vulgar. Desserts that stress your pancreas but please your soul.

I recommend the shrimp magnolia or trying the special of the day. If you are dining with your closest army buddies, share banana's foster and the bread pudding. When you go, wink at the cute waiter for me...
