A traditional meeting place of Aboriginal and European fur traders, the Pas (pronounced pah) is a useful stop for services on northern trips. The Northern Manitoba Trappers' Festival is one of the best-known parties of the Pas and Manitoba, featuring dog-sled races, snowmobiling, ice sculptures, torchlight parades and trapping games in a weekend of frosty anarchy.
