Tundra House Hostel
Lazy Bear Lodge
Locally and solidly built, this log construction lodge (as in everything possible was made with logs) offers tours and packages and has one of two decent places to eat in town. The 33 rooms aren't huge, but you'll sleep well in creaky character.
You'll have all the comforts of home in these two-level former apartments. If you're traveling in a group, this is the best option as the spacious, reliable units all include pullout couches and complete kitchens.
Basic motel-style units come with fridges. There are also studios with small kitchens and full apartments. Make-it-yourself continental breakfast is included.
The 31 motel-style rooms are large and comfortable with highspeed internet plus fridges and microwaves. There's a laundry and shared kitchen with cereal and toast in the morning.
Bear Country Inn
Basic but clean options (rooms from $80, $150 in bear season).
