Canadian restaurants in Victoria

  1. A

    Fort Café

This warm and inviting subterranean hipster haunt offers the perfect combination of great comfort food and cool digs. Among the heaping fresh-made nosh, the turkey avocado wraps and hot pepper beef sandwiches are stand-outs, while there's also a rare offering of all the Salt Spring Brewing beers on draft. Check out the Atari game system around the corner at the back, or drop in for Friday's massively popular quiz night (doors open 7:30pm). If you miss it, there's a shelf of board games to keep you busy. Also check out its cool-ass coffee-shop satellite called Picnic.

    Legislative Dining Room

One of Victoria's best-kept dining secrets, the Parliament Buildings has its own subsidized restaurant where MLAs (and the public) can drop by for a silver-service menu of regional dishes, ranging from smoked tofu salads to velvety steaks and shrimp quesadillas. It's cash only and entry is via the security desk just inside the building's main entrance.
