This thread is intended to contain information useful to people travelling to Canada - please feel free to add anything relevant to it! Before we start though, here's some advice from the TT team:
1. Do a TT search! At least five posters a week ask what to do in Toronto, whether to go visit Niagara Falls on their way around the world, and whether it's possible to work under the table/overstay a tourist visa. The road is well travelled. Find those threads, add a reply (which brings the topic to…
I'm currently looking into flights for a trip to Cuba in January and returning early February. The best option I can find is via Toronto. As I've never been there I was wondering about a stopover for a few days and maybe a trip to Niagra. I'm just wondering if this is a stupid idea considering the time of year and how cold it will be? I looked into daytrips to Niagra and the tours still go so I figured it can't be that bad or am I wrong? Will it be completely miserable? I know the two…
First off, I'm a US citizen with a valid passport. I can't enter Canada without great trouble due to a criminal record.
So let's say I wound up in Canada somehow. I never had my passport entered because I never entered legally.
I make it up to Alaska without any problems. Now I go to the border with my passport to go back to the US.
My question is, will it show up that I never entered Canada? Can I bullshit and say that I did? Anyone with insight to this, or experience?
We are considering the following routing for our trip to Alaska in July. Please let me have your views / suggestions on the route or things to do en-route.
Day 01 Edmonton to Fort St. John 7 hrs
Day 02 Fort St. John to Toad River 7 hrs
Day 03 Toad River to Whitehorse 10 hrs
Day 04 Whitehorse – Skagway – Whitehorse 6 hrs
Day 05 Whitehorse – Carmaks – Dawson City 7 hrs
Day 06 Dawson – Chicken – Fairbanks 9 hrs
Day 07 Fairbanks
Day 08 Fairbanks – Denali 3 hrs
Day 09 Denali –…
Health officials say an employee at Lake Louise Ski Resort worked in food service while infectious with hepatitis A.
Anyone who ate food or drank hot beverages at the resort's Powderkeg Lounge from Nov. 6 to Nov. 8, inclusive, may have been exposed to the virus and is advised to get a free vaccine.
People who only consumed cold beverages at the lounge are not at risk of exposure, according to Alberta Health Services.
For those who may have been exposed, AHS is offering free vaccine clinics on…
I booked and payed for a hotel in Barcelona in July with Expedia.ca (the reservation was for October). Two days before I was to arrive in Barcelona (while I was in Paris) I received an email from Expedia Reservation Services saying my reservation was cancelled and I was to call them. After talking to them on the phone (about 2 hours) they made another booking for me, however when I arrived the new hotel they wanted payment.
When I returned to Canada I again contacted Expedia Reservation…
We are young couple currently settled in Courtenay and want to stay here over the winter season up to the end of April. We have usually 2 days off and want to use these days for traveling and discovering this beautiful part of Canada. I would like to ask you for any suggestions what we must see and where we must go to miss nothing from the Island. We have a car and we are used to make long hikes, could sleep outside in the tent or in a car, having also good equipment. We are not too much…
I have a week to spend in Montreal later this month. What are the important spots to hit in Montreal? This is not my first trip to Montreal, but the other trips were in the summer which were wonderful. I'm also interested in the best public transit routes that can act as tour bus routes.
Your suggestions would be appreciated.
