This thread is intended to contain information useful to people travelling to Canada - please feel free to add anything relevant to it! Before we start though, here's some advice from the TT team:
1. Do a TT search! At least five posters a week ask what to do in Toronto, whether to go visit Niagara Falls on their way around the world, and whether it's possible to work under the table/overstay a tourist visa. The road is well travelled. Find those threads, add a reply (which brings the topic to…
Ages ago, back in 1997 I was convinced of a misdemeanor for a charge while i had my green card back in California. It was during the Clinton administration.
I did 57 days in county (90 day sentence) and 3 years probation. Then immigration caught up to me by order of a new law stating anyone who had a misdemeanor and has a green card must goto immigration court which will decide your stay or not in the U.S.
The case dragged on for a good number of years until 2003 which is the time…
I have a trip to Thailand from Seattle coming up in less than a week (6 days) and we have a connecting flight in Vancouver. The layover is only 1 hour 34 minutes.
During my planning I failed to remember that I have a Wet Reckless (Lesser charge from a DUI) on my record. This happened just over 3 years ago.
Do you think that I will be stopped at customs? Will I be sent back home? Do I even go through customs in Vancouver?
I'm worried in two ways!
1. that I won't make it to Thailand…
just going through old photos. came across one that I thought would make interesting destinations. I had made a selfie in days of 35mm put on self timer and wait. lol. was when I went up a high ski jump in finland just to find out what attracts the ski jumpers. conclusion? there nuts. but then looking at the photo I thought it would be neat if non skiers went to diff resorts just to go up the ramps to do a photo shoot. you will get amazing scenery shots.
Im in very early stages of planning a trip. Im a 22y/o female from the UK, and this will be the first time I've traveled solo. Im hoping to go next year around May time. I just want to know information and the possibility of going from east to west, any recommended routes to take? I won't be renting a car so I will be relying on public transport. I would ideally like to start on the East, potentially squeezing a few days in New York and then heading up to Canada and working my way across. I…
We are planning a summer trip to Newfoundland, something that has hovered in our minds for decades. Our plan is to fly into Deer Lake and fly out of St. John's. In between we will travel by rental car. Our interests include wildlife, nature and cultural experiences. Most important is timing it to see puffins and ice bergs.
I would appreciate some feedback on our tentative itinerary.
Stop 1: L'anse aux Meadows (3)
Stop 2: Red Bay, Labrador (3)
Stop 3: Gros Morne…
Hi, I have a one way flight to Canada with the intention of crossing the Canada - USA border within the time limit of my eTA. However, as I do not have the exact date of my border crossing, I don't have any proof on onward travel from Canada. Will this cause an issue either when I go to catch my flight to Canada (from UK) or when I land in Canada?
One other thing - when crossing the border from Canada - USA (either by land or sea - again not decided!) how far in advance do I need to know when I…
I'm in the middle of planning a trip with my two young children (aged 4 and 5) across Canada in August. I want them to come away with a better sense of first nations history and culture so I would like to visit the Blackfoot Crossing and Smashed in Buffalo Jump sites near Calgary. At the Blackfoot Crossing you can even stay in a tipi which sounds perfect - educational and fun! However I cannot get hold of anyone to book this. There's no reply from the contact email on the website…
I know many of you who are interested in coming to Canada through International Experience Canada 2016 have probably already applied (as I have, for the Working Holiday from Ireland) and are currently waiting in a pool for an invite! I'm not going to lie, it's a bit nerve wracking to wait, especially when I see people who applied like a week ago get something but those who applied back in December still waiting. Anyways, I thought that I would share some information that would be…
