This thread is intended to contain information useful to people travelling to Canada - please feel free to add anything relevant to it! Before we start though, here's some advice from the TT team:
Do a TT search! At least five posters a week ask what to do in Toronto, whether to go visit Niagara Falls on their way around the world, and whether it's possible to work under the table/overstay a tourist visa. The road is well travelled. Find those threads, add a reply (which brings the…
CHURCHILL (From Winnipeg), Manitoba, Canada.
'Churchill', by the edge of the Hudson Bay in the Canadian province of Manitoba is known as 'The Polar Bear capital of the world'.
During October and November, you can board a forty seater Tundra buggie to watch congregations of Polar Bears closely.
A Tundra buggie is an interesting tourist bus with wide windows and attached viewing decks. It has giant wheels and strong and thick deeply treaded tires for traction and tundra protection.
I'm visiting Montreal 11/13-18 for a bit of work and a bit of exploring. I'm traveling solo, so looking for others who are visiting and/or local who would be up for exploring a few sites, sampling the cuisine and hitting up the nightlife.
I flew to Seattle via Toronto with Air Canada in the summer & had a very long delay. I've just had an email offering 600 Euro compensation or I can have a 900 Euro travel voucher towards a flight with them.
I have been to Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, Vancouver, Banff, Jasper, Lake Louise, . All great, but where should I go if I opt for the voucher? I can go any time next year & somewhere with good hikes, food and beer would be my preference. Also I remember that accommodation was expensive…
The boyfriend and I are planning a long USA/Canada trip next year, we're trying to figure out how much time to hire cars for, so I was hoping for some feedback on our rough itinerary. As you can probably guess from the below, we like nature/scenery, walks etc. We're stopping in a couple of cities, but we have visited Toronto and Montreal before so we're really only looking to spend a couple of days in the cities, this trip is more about the scenic areas. Accommodation-wise, we'll be…
We just got married. We are outdoorsy people, love hiking mostly, have two dogs ( pitbulls), love local food and are looking for a place to live where people are open minded, small town/city. We wouldn't live exactly in the city ( we want some land in the woods near a town). At first I thought Bc would be a good idea, Golden often comes up in my reseach but we might be a bit too progressive to live there? We currently live in Montreal and so we might have a completly false view of what western…
My girlfriend and I hope to travel to Canada in the new year and are currently planning our itinerary and Canada is certainly a place on our list. Last year we spent a few months in NZ and I would like to know if anyone here has travelled to both Canada and New Zealand and if they would say the two are comparable and any similarities/differences between the two from your own experiences. I have seen an article recently which makes the suggestion based on:-
They both share…
Myself and my girlfriend are travelling to Cuba, from London, via Toronto next month with a 7 hour stopover. We are flying with Air Canada and wanted to book into their Maple lounge but it appears I might have to be a member and can't book it if travelling economy, is that correct?
If so, is the plaza lounge worth it?
Thanks for your help :)
