Lonely Planet review
The opulent twin of Banff Springs enjoys one of the world's most enviable locations on the shores of Lake Louise. Originally built by the Canadian Pacific Railway in the 1890s, the hotel was added to in 1925 and 2004. While opinions differ on its architectural merits, few deny the luxury and romance of its facilities that include a spa, fine dining, a mini-museum, fine views and an unforgettably grandiose decor. Rooms are comfortable, if a little generic.
